Endoscopes Market is expected to rise at A CAGR Of 6.6% during the forecast period 2023 to 2030: Coherent Market Insights | Medtronic plc, Olympus Corp., Hoya Corp., Fujifilm Holdings Corp., CONMED Corp., Stryker Corp., DePuy Synthes

June 26th, 2023 Coherent Market Insights Releases

A medical treatment known as endoscopy employs the use of an endoscope to examine and perhaps treat internal organs. Endoscopy is a minimally invasive procedure that involves inserting an endoscope inside the body through natural orifices (the mouth, the nares, etc.) or through tiny incisions. The endoscope camera and accompanying visualization equipment make it possible to see the patient’s interior organs on a television screen. Endoscopy is not only used for diagnostic purposes, but also to remove samples from diseased organs (in case of cancer). Its primary application is in surgery, specifically for the performance of minimally invasive procedures. The various components that make up an endoscopy system include the endoscope itself, a viewing system, and sometimes some sort of endo treatment device. Depending on where it will be used, an endoscope can be classified as a gastrointestinal (GI) endoscope, an arthroscopy endoscope, a cystoscopy endoscope, a hysteroscopy endoscope, a ureteroscopy endoscope, a laparoscopy endoscope, a bronchoscopy endoscope, a laryngoscopy endoscope, or any number of other classifications. Cameras, video processing and converting hardware, a light source, and displays all make up a visualization system. Ultrasound endoscopes, endoscopic mucosal resection and dissection instruments, and endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography instruments are all examples of endo treatment devices.

The global endoscopes market was valued at US$ 29,151 million in 2022, and is expected to witness a CAGR of 6.6% over the forecast period (2023 – 2030).

The global endoscope market is expected to expand as a result of the rising prevalence of gastrointestinal and other illnesses.

Diseases of the gastrointestinal system, like ulcerative colitis, Crohn’s disease, pancreatitis, chronic constipation, and others, are commonly diagnosed and treated with the help of endoscopes. The worldwide rise in these diseases is driving up demand for high-tech endoscopes. A study published in October 2017 in the Lancet estimated that there were 319 new cases of Crohn’s disease in the United States and 322 new cases in Europe for every 100,000 persons. In 2017, over 1.6 million patients in the United States were suffering with IBD, as reported in the journal Gastroenterology’s article on the subject. High rates of these illnesses are also being seen in rising markets like China and India. For example, an epidemiological study published in 2013 in the Gastroenterology Journal found that there were 344 cases of IBD per 100,000 people in China. The endoscopes market is projected to expand as a result of the rising incidence of various cancers around the world. Endoscopy is a powerful tool for diagnosing and treating gastrointestinal cancer, which primarily affects the stomach and small intestine. The endoscope market is projected to expand as a result of the rising incidence of this cancer. By the American Cancer Society’s count, 26,240 new instances of stomach cancer will be detected in the United States this year. Lung and bronchial cancer (234,030 new cases in 2018) and colorectal cancer (158,810 new cases in 2018) are two of the most common types of cancer in the United (140,250)

Market expansion is anticipated to be driven by technological innovations in endoscopic treatments.

Recent years have seen a dramatic uptick in the popularity of advanced endoscopic operations thanks to advancements in image visualization, the simplification of surgical procedures, and the availability of adaptable endoscopes. Furthermore, the most recent development in capsule endoscopy incorporates a capsule-shaped endoscope with a tiny camera, which patients ingest.

Live images of the internal organs are sent and displayed on a huge screen, making it a powerful tool for the monitoring and treatment of chronic diseases including cancer and inflammatory bowel disease. For instance, the FDA granted Medtronic plc a broader approval for its Pill Cam COLON 2 capsule endoscope in 2016. (FDA). This method evaluates polyps in the colon without the need for invasive surgery or even mild anesthesia, making it the gold standard for patients who present too great a risk for colonoscopy. Furthermore, in June of 2017, Olympus released the ENDOEYE 3D video endoscope, which employs a 3D imaging technology to assist depth perception and hence facilitates faster and more precise endoscopic surgery.
