Scope of Global Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) Diagnostics Market:

The respiratory syncytial virus is a very common and contagious virus that infects the respiratory tract of most children before 1-2 years of their age. RSV was discovered from chimpanzees BY J. Morris and an associate in 1956. RSV is an enveloped RNA virus of the family Paramyxoviridae that causes lung infections. It affects all generations but it is very dangerous for infants and older infants. RSV is the most common cause of bronchiolitis and pneumonia. It also causes respiratory illness in adults and it can occasionally cause a serious infection that needs hospitalization from breathing compromise with bronchiolitis or pneumonia. In most people, symptoms usually develop after 4-6 days of exposure to RSV which is known as the incubation period of the RSV virus. Symptoms of RSV include runny nose, loss of appetite followed by coughing or sneezing, or mild fever. Also in infants sometimes develop serious symptoms like wheezing, irritability, cyanosis, and breathing difficulties. RSV spreads from person to person via coughing or sneezing. For diagnosis, most doctors use blood or urine test to look for a bacterial infection, a chest x-ray for checking any signs of pneumonia, a test of material scraped out from a person’s nose or, mouth. In the treatment of RSV of infants, doctors use a cool-mist vaporizer to keep the air moist and make breathing easier. Also, nonaspirin fever reducer tablets are used. In serious cases, doctors use IV fluids or medications to open the airways.
