The global Endoscopes Market was valued at USD XX million in 2022 and is estimated to reach USD XX million by 2029, with a CAGR of XX% during the forecast period (2022-2029).
The most common cancers are breast cancer, lung and bronchus cancer, prostate cancer, colon and rectum cancer, melanoma of the skin, bladder cancer, non-Hodgkin lymphoma, kidney and renal pelvis cancer, endometrial cancer, leukemia, pancreatic cancer, thyroid cancer, and liver cancer.
The endoscopes market is booming with continuous technological advancements in different endoscopes by manufacturers. Some of the recent product development in endoscopes are:
In January 2019, OraVu®, a global leader in dental endoscopy solutions, launched the DeVA-1® Dental Vision Assistant, a complete micro- endoscope system that allows periodontists, dentists, and dental hygienists to see deep into the gingival pocket without flap surgery, thereby giving “sight” to otherwise “blind” procedures.
The rising adoption of disposable endoscopes is also boosting the growth of the market. rising incidence of nosocomial infections due to the use of contaminated endoscopes is a key factor leading to the adoption of disposable endoscopes.
According to a research study conducted by the American Journal of Infection Control, microbial growth was detected in 71.0% of the endoscope samples collected from three U.S. hospitals in 2018.
The increasing number of reprocessing failures is consequential in the augmented adoption of a disposable endoscope in hospitals. In 2015, FDA conveyed that duodeno scopes were related to infections produced from multi-drug resistant bacteria in the majorly in U.S.

According to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), an endoscope and accessories is a device used to provide access, illumination, and allow observation or manipulation of body cavities, hollow organs, and canals. The device consists of various rigid or flexible instruments that are inserted into body spaces and may include an optical system for conveying an image to the user’s eye and their accessories may assist in gaining access or increase the versatility and augment the capabilities of the devices.
Examples of devices that are within this generic type of device include cleaning accessories for endoscopes, photographic accessories for endoscopes, nonpowered anoscopes, binolcular attachments for endoscopes, pocket battery boxes, flexible or rigid choledochoscopes, colonoscopes, diagnostic cystoscopes, cystourethroscopes, enteroscopes, esophagogastroduodenoscopes, rigid esophagoscopes, fiberoptic illuminators for endoscopes, incandescent endoscope lamps, biliary pancreatoscopes, proctoscopes, resectoscopes, nephroscopes, sigmoidoscopes, ureteroscopes, urethroscopes, endomagnetic retrievers, cytology brushes for endoscopes, and lubricating jelly for transurethral surgical instruments.
A significant proportion of technological developments has focused on innovating the new endoscopes. For instance,
In November 2019, Fiber optic lighting specialist SCHOTT has developed the SCHOTT® SingleEZ Guide illumination solution, a plug-and-play light guide that allows easy and fast installation into a complete system. The new solution also reduces heat transmission to enable easier registration with regulatory authorities. The development marks SCHOTT’s first entrance into the single-use endoscope market.

By Product Type – Rigid Endoscopes
Rigid endoscopes are solid metal tubes with a series of lenses mounted around one end of the tube. Fibre optics arranged on the outside of the lens housing is used to deliver light along the length of the endoscope. These endoscopes are not flexible, but generate high resolution images.
Traditional rigid endoscopes and rigid video endoscopes are tracked under this category.
Rigid endoscopes are commonly used in minimally invasive surgical procedures like rhinoscopy (nose), cystoscopy (urinary bladder), and laparoscopy(abdomen). Rigid endoscopes are made of metal tubes that contain the lenses, and the light channel(s) and are available in a large range of external diameters, from 1 to 12 mm.
For the treatment of urolithiasis in the urinary bladder (cystolithiasis), mostly rigid endoscopes (laser resectoscopes) are used.
Geographical Analysis – North America
North America held the dominant market share for endoscopes in 2018, and it is expected to maintain the growth over the forecast period, owing to increased use of endoscopic procedures due to the highly aware population, increase in geriatric population, increasing cases of cancer and inclination towards minimally invasive procedures for diagnosis and treatment.
According to the American Cancer Society, in 2017, there were an estimated 95,520 new cases of colon cancer and 39,910 cases of rectal cancer diagnosed in the US.
A colonoscopy is now the most common endoscopic procedure in the US for the diagnosis of colorectal cancer. Of all cancers that both men and women can get, colorectal cancer (cancer of the lower colon or rectum) is the second leading cancer killer in the region. Because screening for colorectal cancer has been shown to be effective in reducing the number of cancers found and the number of people who die from the disease, it is recommended that adults ages 50 to 75 be screened for colorectal cancer regularly.
The Endoscopes market is fairly consolidated with selected key players accounting for the predominant market share.
