Intrusion pump therapy is the use of intrathecal pumps to introduce drug solutions directly to the blood flow in the brain or spinal cord region. This therapy is most effective when combined with other non-intrusive treatment modalities, such as spinal manipulation and the administration of pain medications. Intrusion pump therapy is often used in conjunction with other therapies such as ultrasound therapy to relieve pain and treat various neurological disorders.
