We went to CES 2019 to investigate all the latest health-related consumer-centric gadgetry. What we did not expect you is to talk to Penn Jillette and discuss his health concerns and how he managed to lose massive amounts of weight (he even wrote a book about it). But that’s what happened, as Mr. Jillette was representing Withings and their line of activity tracking watches, smart scales, and other digital tools that help people improve their levels of physical activity, track blood pressure, ECG, and body temperature, and help folks to get slimmer.
The company, which sold itself to Nokia and then broke off to become independent again, is continuing to put out products at an impressive rate. They have six different wrist-based tracker devices for sale, three smart scales, a blood pressure measuring device that also does basic ECG, and a wireless thermometer that can be placed against the forehead to take readings.
