Canon Medical is releasing a new high end CT scanning and fluoroscopy configuration for use in the interventional suite. The system combines the company’s Alphenix Sky + C-arm, Hybrid Catheterization Tilt/Cradle Table, and the Aquilion ONE / GENESIS Edition CT scanner.
The combined system, known as Alphenix 4D CT provides a complete package for planning therapies, executing them, and verifying the results, essentially in one shot.
The system is able to position the patient in all sorts of ways while still being able to use the C-arm and CT scanner, thanks to the new tilting table, adjustable CT scanner, and highly articulated C-arm. Many of the controls are provided through a tablet for an intuitive and fast experience, helping to start interventions faster and finish them earlier.
To help control patients’ exposure to radiation, the system features Canon’s DoseRite technology that maintains image quality while letting clinicians administer a lighter X-ray load during scanning.
“The all new Alphenix 4D CT was designed based on the feedback we’ve received from clinicians. With the Hybrid Catheterization Tilt/Cradle Table and workflow enhancements enabled by the new Alphenix Workstation, we are confident this new system delivers on our customers’ unmet needs,” in a statement said Casey Waldo, director, Vascular Business Unit, Canon Medical Systems USA, Inc. “The new system expands the capabilities of 4D CT even further and creates new opportunities for innovation through intervention.”
