GN Hearing, a company that makes audio technology that appears under names such as Beltone, Interton, and Jabra, just announced new hearing aid called ReSound LiNX Quattro. The firm describes it as “the world’s first Premium-Plus hearing aid,” delivering what it believes is the best sound quality and speech intelligibility available on the market. It is able to connect to smartphones and other devices to stream music, audiobooks, and anything else directly into the user’s ears.
The ReSound LiNX Quattro relies on a new processing chip, which processes a wide dynamic range of sounds so that quiet inputs are well heard while loud sounds come through without distortion.
In addition to improved sound, ReSound LiNX Quattro features a long lasting battery that should last up to 24 hours, even when streaming sound through it half the time. To further extend this, the hearing aid comes with a portable recharging case with its own internal battery.
Here are some more details about the internals of the new hearing aid, according to GN Hearing:
With a new chip platform, a completely rewritten sound processing package, a redesigned wireless radio with extra signal strength and a unique utilization of microphones, sounds are passed to the amplifier without being altered. The result is a brilliant experience with Layers of Sound™ that is designed to inspire confidence in people with hearing loss, so they can enjoy the moments that matter most. Compared to ReSound LiNX 3D™, the new chip enables 100% faster processing, 100% additional memory, 35% increase in frequency bandwidth and the highest input dynamic range in the industry.
While the primary goal of hearing aids is to hear and communicate with others, the hearing aid’s ability to faithfully reproduce music is the ultimate test of sound quality: 95% of users prefer ReSound LiNX Quattro™ for music listening compared to other premium hearing aids (Jespersen et al., 2018).
