After several early successes and receiving such positive reviews from its partners, RepTango continues the roll-out of its new app targeted directly at the hospital operating room.
Essentially, RepTango facilitates better communication and organization between hospitals and their healthcare representatives – better known in the industry as ‘device reps’.
And, it’s by streamlining that communication with the device rep that RepTango enables hospitals to further reduce their operating overhead and increase efficiencies.
“There’s no doubt device reps help surgeons provide better care.” said Greg Archbald, co-founder of RepTango. “The device rep’s role is to know the ins-and-outs of the equipment they sell, make sure it’s ready for surgeons and staff to use, and to answer the OR’s technical questions. However, only now are hospitals able to fully leverage the device rep not only as a source of knowledge but also as a source of profit.”
Founded by a team of ex-medical device reps, RepTango was designed to ensure hospitals and their staff are able to leverage the knowledge, technical support, and education provided by their medical device reps – even when the rep isn’t present.
Those who manage the operating room are under an immense amount of pressure not only to provide care for their patients but to also run their operations as effectively and profitably as possible.
“Our focus is primarily on alleviating hospital management from unnecessary interruptions from both internal staff and external device reps,” Archbald says. “By making important device information available to those that need it within the hospital, RepTango not only decreases the number of “Do you have a minute?” interruptions by the hospital’s own staff but also the number of unscheduled visits and cold calls on OR management by outside reps.”
Essentially, RepTango provides OR management with a tool to make device and product information available on demand to anyone on the hospital staff who requires it. Device reps simply upload instructions for use, brochures, customer service info and any training materials to the RepTango platform for the products and devices which they carry. Upon doing so hospital staff has immediate access to these materials through their personal smartphone or hospital computer.
What’s more, hospital management and procurement can submit requests for quotes for new products through the system, too.
Given today’s environment, hospitals are always looking for new and creative ways to reduce their overhead and increase productivity. However, the healthcare industry has been slow to adopt some of the new technologies that have come online in the last few years.
“Conventional software systems in the health industry are not only expensive but notoriously difficult to use for hospital staff.” says Archbald. “RepTango enables hospital staff to start benefiting from the tool Day 1 and is free for hospitals that qualify.”
RepTango claims even the most tech-inept staff can learn how to use the app in only 3 minutes and hospital roll-out is fully automated.
RepTango says their mission is to make the dance between rep and hospital simpler, more pleasant, and more productive.
Now, any hospital can take advantage of this new consumer-friendly tech everyone has come to enjoy outside of work. Through its app, RepTango aims to bring simplicity, human reason, and logic that’s been missing from operating room.
