Dräger is now making available in the United States its Babyleo TN500 IncuWarmer beds. These devices keep a careful control of the temperature inside the infant warmer/incubator and can be used in open and closed care, as well as during transitions. Florida Hospital in Orlando is now the first facility in the U.S. to begin using the new beds.
It has three different heating units, including a convective heater, a dual radiant warmer, and a heater inside the mattress. The three head delivery modes help to control the temperature and work together so when the baby is accessed and transferred, heat is quickly delivered for optimal care.
The built-in humidifier uses boiling water to provide steam and easy to clean surfaces help to reduce any chance of infection.
Unlike other monitoring devices, the Babyleo TN500 IncuWarmer features a separate “Family View” setting on the display that provides the status in an easy to understand format. In another unusual move, if Mom is not around, the bed offers the ability to play Mom’s voice or heartbeat inside the baby’s chamber.
