The operating microscope is an invaluable tool in conventional endodontics. The enhanced visualization and high-powered magnification allows endodontists to identify microscopic blemish, color alteration, microscopic amounts of chalky white demineralization around the grooves, and tiny amounts of flaking of darkened carious tooth structure within the crevices of these grooves.
