QUBYX, a Wilmington, Delaware-based company that develops computer monitor calibration tools, has received FDA clearance for its PerfectLum system to be used with the 4K Dell Ultrasharp UP3017 display for viewing DICOM images, including basing diagnoses off of them. The package can be purchased as one, which includes the monitor, PerfectLum software, and an X-Rite i1 calibration puck that attaches to the screen.
The software interacts with the monitor’s 14 bit lookup table (LUT) to calibrate it to DICOM levels, and this can be done manually on the workstation, via a scheduled script, or remotely by an IT administrator. Moreover, for larger clinics the IT administrator can keep an eye on the calibration of all the compatible monitors at once via the PerfectLum software, receiving customized alerts if a screen isn’t up to standard.
Some of the monitor’s specs:
- Diagonal size: 31.5”
- Resolution: 8MP, 3840 х 2160 pixel
- Color Depth: 1.07 billion colors LED backlight
- Pixel Pitch: 0.182 mm
- Look Up Table (LUT): 14 Bit
- Video Connection: DP, mDP, HDMI (MHL), 4 x USB3 with one charging port, 1 x USB3 upstream, Media Card Reader
