ndd Medical Technologies, a company with offices in Andover, MA and Zurich, Switzerland, is releasing a new professional spirometer for primary care physicians. The EasyOne Air uses the company’s TrueFlow ultrasound technology that does not require any calibration or maintenance, allowing it to be used for years. It has a rechargeable battery that’s replenished when connected to a base station, and when disconnected it can be carried in one hand.
A color touchscreen is used to select settings and to review the readings, which are also interpreted to the ATS/ERS guidelines.
The spirometer can connect to in-clinic EMRs to upload its readings via a Bluetooth connection to a paired PC or via a USB cable.
It has received both U.S. FDA and CE Mark approval in Europe earlier this year.
