Siemens won FDA clearance for its new ARTIS pheno robotic angiography C-arm. The system is essentially an upgraded version of the company’s Artis zeego (even the capitalization of the name has changed), sporting a zen40HDR flat panel detector and GIGALIX X-ray tube.
The system features automatic dose selection to minimize radiation exposure and generates 3D scans that need less contrast to be injected.
Thanks to 2K recording, it produces images four times the resolution of the Artis zeego. The ARTIS pheno also performs scans faster than its predecessor.
The C-arm, stand, and patient table are coated in an antimicrobial material and the C-arm and table are hermetically sealed so pathogens can’t get in or out of them. Cables are hidden inside the system to leave fewer surfaces exposed to bacteria and viruses, as well as to help avoid anyone from running into them accidentally.
