Neither kids nor their parents really like going to the doctor’s office, but the days of at-home doctor visits are already long gone. Modern technology can help to overcome this by allowing doctors to examine kids remotely, as long as the right device is available. TytoCare, an Israeli firm, just received FDA clearance to introduce its digital stethoscope for the Tyto telehealth system.
Tyto is a modular system that can be used to perform a number of examinations under the watchful eye of a live physician. The main unit can accept a number of attachments, such as a thermometer, otoscope, or a stethoscope. The front features a touchscreen display to interface with the different devices and share the data and recordings with your doctor. The physician can connect to the family’s phone, tablet, or other device to get a video feed from the home and to guide through positioning the devices to obtain quality readings.
