This year’s Innovation Louisiana 2016 event, sponsored by J.P. Morgan Chase and hosted by the New Orleans BioInnovation Center (NOBIC) in New Orleans, Louisiana, will take place from November 14-15. NOBIC is a technology and business incubator focused on providing meaningful resources to foster innovation and aid in commercialization of health technologies within the state of Louisiana.
I have worked personally with Aaron Miscenich and his team at Novate Medical Technologies and can’t speak highly enough of the effort that they put in to help entrepreneurs realize success.
Innovation Louisiana 2016 is part of Global Entrepreneurship Week and is focused on opportunities to help entrepreneurs bring life science research to bedside through commercialization. The event will include a moderated panel with seasoned biotechnology entrepreneurs from Zalgen Labs, Sibling Capital, Carmell Therapeutics, Avolynt, and Halo Neuroscience. There will be sessions on the life cycle of a biotechnology startup, importance of forming a strong founding team, intellectual property protection, understanding stakeholders in healthcare, partnerships, and raising capital. The event will also include keynote addresses by Brett Wingeier, PhD, the co-founder and CTO of Halo Neuroscience, and Rachel Rimsky, the Associate Director of Research Partnerships for The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research.
