Sony just announced that it will soon be releasing a lineup of 4K medical monitors with 3D visualization capabilities, the first medical monitors to have such features simultaneously. Previously, 3D was only available at most on 1080p (HD) screens, but now the image quality can be up to four times sharper.
Ultra high-def 3D endoscopes and surgical microscopes are about to start becoming widely available, so having proper medical monitors to display what they’re observing is a critical part of the package.
The monitors have features such as picture-in-picture and will be able to flip and rotate 3D images 180°. They have edge-to-edge protection and are water resistant and cleanable. They will also come with 3D eye protectors for use in the operating room.
