Boston Scientific is launching a new endoscopic hemostatic clipping device called Resolution 360, generally intended for use in the GI tract to remove polyps, treat peptic ulcers, and work on diverticuli of the colon. As the name implies, it allows for complete rotation in both directions of the clip at the distal end of the instrument, while being able to open and close the clip at the same time.
Thanks to metal braiding, the device has perfect 1 to 1 control from the handle to the tip for accurate placement. “The Resolution 360 Clip gives me the unique advantage of controlling the movement and placement of the clip while also maneuvering the scope during the clipping procedure,” in a statement said David L. Carr-Locke, MD, FRCP, FASGE, chief, Division of Digestive Diseases, Mount Sinai Beth Israel Medical Center, New York, “The ability to have complete control can help improve the accuracy of clip placement and the speed of the procedure particularly in complex cases.”
