Boston Scientific won FDA approval for its Blazer Open-Irrigated RF ablation catheter used in treating Type 1 atrial flutter. The decision was based on results of the BLOCk-CTI prospective, randomized clinical trial that involved 302 patients at 24 hospitals around the country.
The device features the firm’s Total Tip Cooling technology that makes sure the distal tip is constantly cooled sufficiently to prevent unwanted damage to nearby cardiac tissue.
