Medication inhalers have been essentially the same for decades now, and while pretty small they can be pretty inconvenient to carry around in one’s purse or pocket. A new compact inhaler may soon be available that is about the size of a credit card, small enough to fit inside a wallet.
The Bloom is an “open mouth” inhaler, but the team behind it promises that medications will efficiently penetrate deep into the lungs to do their thing.
The device will be refillable from the patient’s own prescribed drug cartridges, so the capsules themselves don’t have to be carried along.
The developers hope to submit the Bloom to the FDA this summer with production hopefully commencing toward the winter.
