Bioabsorbable PerQseal Vivasure Large Bore Femoral Closure Device Cleared in EU

Vivasure Medical, a company out of Galway, Ireland, landed CE Mark approval to introduce in Europe its fully absorbable percutaneous vascular closure device for use in large vessel femoral arteriotomies following transcatheter procedures. The Vivasure is designed to address fairly large arterial cuts created when delivering transcatheter heart valves and performing endovascular abdominal aortic aneurysm repairs.

The Vivasure device is sutureless, bioabsorbable while being synthetic in nature, improves post op healing, and supposedly saves time in the cath lab.
