Svelte Medical, a company with offices in New Providence, New Jersey and Brussels, Belgium, is releasing in Europe its SLENDER Sirolimus-Eluting Coronary Stent-On-A-Wire Integrated Delivery System (IDS). The SLENDER IDS is the narrowest drug eluting stent on the market, and is delivered using a narrow catheter. This allows it to be implanted via a transradial approach, bringing it to locations otherwise too challenging for other stents.
The delivery system was designed to reduce the number of steps taken and speed up the process. Moreover, as seen in the following animation, the stent is inflated using a novel inflation system that generates even pressure across the lumen wall.
