PerkinElmer is releasing an analytical software package designed for safety reviews, monitoring of large numbers of patients, biostatistics, and for pharmacologists, among other uses. The Clinical Data Review software lets relevant professionals analyze data sets, finding correlations and relationships within the data. It can particularly be useful for running clinical trials that feature large quantities of well organized data.
Sub-populations can be analyzed, data quality issues discovered, and adaptive monitoring utilized. The system natively works with data sources suchs as SAS, Medidata Rave, Oracle Inform, and Oracle LSH.
Some details according to PerkinElmer:
The solution allows for the identification of unknown relationships in the data whereby dimension-free exploratory analysis on Adverse Events, Labs, Exposure, Concomitant Medications, etc. can be performed. Population, sub-population and patient-level data is brought together and can be reviewed at the presentation layer. Contextual collaboration can be performed so that clinicians and data management can quickly identify data quality issues and perform adaptive monitoring. An overall fundamental process improvement is gained by identifying protocol violations and dropouts early and also early safety signal detection. The solution is built on an enterprise-class analytics platform that provides easy data integration, role-based authorization and automation services.
PerkinElmer’s Clinical Data Review solution is powered by TIBCO Spotfire®, which is recognized as the “de facto end user of choice for the strategic assessment of clinical data” by IDC Health Insights.
