EDDA Technology has received FDA clearance for IQQA-Guide, an intra-operative 3D navigation system for thoracic, abdominal, and pelvic surgery. Patient-specific anatomic models are extracted from multi-modality images and utilised for on-the-fly 3D navigation during surgery. This way the surgeon can “see through” organ surfaces which EDDA suggests might reduce the use of intra-operative CT scans during imaging-guided surgical procedures.
The IQQA-Guide complements the existing range of 3D imaging and quantification tools that EDAA provides, and the whole platform now covers pre-operative planning, intra-operative navigation and monitoring, and post-operative assessment. The platform has been mainly used for liver, kidney, and lung cancers. Furthermore the company expects its products to power the next generation of minimally invasive and robotic treatments in precision medicine.
