The National Geographic Channel is running a new series called Breakthrough, and this week’s episode, More than Human, covers various technologies that can empower disabled people and give folks new superpowers. An example is Lockheed Martin’s new exoskeleton, very similar to the one we tried from Ekso Bionics, that lets people operate heavy tools for long periods of time. The big question of the episode is whether these kinds of advancements make us more than human, and whether we risk becoming cyborgs that are essentially detached from our humanity.
