Masimo is releasing its MightySat pulse oximeter in the U.S. following FDA clearance of the device. It is designed for personal use but features Masimo’s SET Measure-through Motion and Low Perfusion technology that provides accurate readings even when the user’s hands are shaky and when blood perfusion through the fingers is reduced. The same tech has been present in Masimo’s hospital pulse oximeters for a while now and has been proving itself in clinical use.
The MightySat measures SpO2, pulse rate, perfusion index, and pleth variability index (PVI), of which the SpO2 and pulse rate stay accurate even during motion and low perfusion.
On top of the unit is an OLED display showing readings and a touchpad for customizing the unit.
There’s three versions of the device available, including two that have Bluetooth connectivity that allow the user to sync readings with their Android or iOS device.
