AtriCure has released the new cryoFORM cryoablation probe for treating cardiac arrhythmias. The device was developed to be highly flexible for easier passage through difficult anatomy, featuring directed cooling and temperature management that allows for easy release from frozen cardiac tissue. Additionally, the tubing feeding the nitrous oxide coolant has itself been made more flexible to make the tool easier to move around.
“We are excited to announce the launch of the cryoFORM probe,” said Mike Carrel, President and CEO of AtriCure, in a statement. “This builds off of one of our company’s core competencies in cryoablation, and offers our customers another option when performing surgical ablation by allowing for easier manipulation and application of the device. We have listened to our customers’ requests for a significantly more flexible probe that doesn’t compromise on the core strengths and features they value most.”
