Drones in Medicine: Hangout with Tim Amukele

Drones, or unmanned aerial systems, have the potential to address a lot of issues revolving around rapid access to medical care. From flying out external defibrillators to collecting patient samples to take back to a pathology lab, drones can do in minutes what may take much longer by other means. We’re hosting Tim Amukele, lead author of a study in PLOS ONE that investigated whether drones are suitable for transport of various lab samples. He’ll be presenting the research, the drone used, and will discuss the future of aerial systems in medical applications.

Please join us right here on Tuesday, September 29 at 9 am EST during which time you’ll be able to ask questions and participate in the discussion.

Shortly before the event the hangout will appear right here and we’ll be starting promptly.
