EarlySense, an Israeli maker of non-contact heart and breath rate detection technology, is on a roll this week announcing partnerships to integrate its capabilities into consumer sleep monitoring devices. The latest is the announcement of the beurer SE 80 SleepExpert that was launched this week at the IFA 2015 in Berlin, Germany.
The SE 80 SleepExpert is a disc that is positioned under the mattress below where the person tends to sleep. The device pairs with a complimentary smartphone app and sends its readings over Bluetooth throughout the night. In the morning charts are ready to analyze one’s sleep patterns that include breathing and heart rates, as well as how much turning was done throughout the night. The app detects different sleep phases and provides an overall score of the soundness of the user’s sleep.
