A new startup hopes to offer a new option to help women conceive children by timing when best to have sex based on the basal body temperature and the presence of particular hormone (Luteinizing hormone (LH)) . The Welltwigs system includes a thermometer and a testing module that resembles a pregnancy test that connect to the matching app for data transfer of the readings.
The app tracks these readings day to day and uses an algorithm to establish the optimal window during which it’s best to try to conceive. The system is also able to detect Human Chorionic Gondatropin (hCG), which commonly used pregnancy tests look for, and tell you if a stork is on its way.
There are already similar products that track the basal body temperature, but the Welltwigs seems to be the only one that also includes Luteinizing hormone tracking to aid in prediction.
The system is not yet available for purchase, but you can already download the iOS app and try it out on its own.
