Rayence, a Korean firm, is releasing its first U-arm X-ray system in the US, having received FDA 510(k) clearance for the device. The RU-3000 was designed for small rooms, being able to maintain a full range of motion even in rooms with eight foot ceilings. The motorized arms can be controlled using a touchscreen display built into the unit or using a remote control from a more distant location. To prevent injuries to patients, on-board sensors prevent collisions that may occur if the operator is not paying attention.
The device uses the company’s 17″ x 17″ cesium digital detector that connects to the Rayence XmaruView workstation for image review. The system can be used in free-standing patients, and a mobile table is available to expand the system’s applicability.
