Planmed Oy (Helsinki, Finland) has launched its brand new Planmed Clarity 3D mammography system. The device features Digital Breast Tomosynthesis (DBT) technology that creates a volumetric 3D representation of the breast tissue. This allows radiologists to more readily spot suspect lesions within tissues of varying softness.
Coupled with the firm’s patented Continuous Sync-and-Shoot approach, the system produces imaging nearly lacking of any motion blur and artifacts. This leads to high resolution, vivid images of various microstructures within the breast.
