Philips is introducing HeartModelA.I., a new Anatomically Intelligent Ultrasound (AIUS) tool for advanced quantification, automated 3D views and robust reproducibility of cardiac ultrasound imaging. It is made available on the Philips’ EPIQ 7 ultrasound system, one of Philips’ top-of-the-line ultrasound systems.
Anatomical Intelligence employs a digital database of anatomical structural models and adaptive system technology to conform to variability in patient anatomy. Using this knowledge-based identification and patient-specific adaptation HeartModelA.I. provides automatic quantification of the left ventricle and atrium, and display of routine apical views.
In a comparison, exams with HeartModelA.I. were three to six times faster than conventional 2D exams in gathering left ventricular and atrial dimensions and volumes. In addition, it reduces variability of ultrasound measurements compared to manual measurements. HeartModelA.I. will be made available on the EPIQ 7 ultrasound system in the U.S. beginning in August and globally by the end of the year.
