At the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid and the Institute for Health Research of the Hospital “Ramón y Cajal” in Spain researchers have developed a new device for doing skin biopsies with just a push of a button. Currently, though simple, the procedure requires a scalpel and forceps, and does take local anesthesia and valuable time. With the new device it can be done without anesthesia and within five minutes.
