VQ OrthoCare, a company based in Irvine, California, released a new interferential electrical stimulator indicated to “relieve acute pain, manage chronic pain, relax muscle spasms, maintain range of motion and increase circulation.” The Avid IF 2 is therapeutically similar to neurostimulators that have existed for decades, but it has reporting capabilities whereby the cradle sends usage data to a company server to be reviewed by the patients’ care givers.
The therapy protocols can be adjusted for each individual patient, using low energy signals for blocking pain and sending higher energy pulses for improving circulation, managing spasms, and helping in recovery post injury or surgical procedure.
