Cambridge Consultants, a company that helps other firms develop concepts into products, has put forward its own device idea that may just be realized in the not too distant future. The Flow Health Hub is essentially a laboratory device designed for the home that can do basic testing for glucose, cholesterol, hydration, and hopefully other things within bodily fluids.
The device would rely on existing microfluidic techniques and consists of a main unit and disposable cartridges within which a sample is placed and the testing is done. Each cartridge will have a specific test it’s associated with and all the user will have to do is place a sample into the cartridge, insert the cartridge into the main unit, and watch the results come in.
