Most work environments and institutions have med kits around just in case someone gets a cut, burn, or other minor injury. These are typically just hanging boxes with things like gloves, gauzes, and scissors stuffed inside. A new company called Clever Medkits out of New Zealand has completely redesigned the common med kit and added smart new features fit for the modern age.
The kit is a big glowing green cross, making it easily identifiable for what it is. Once opened, all the tools and supplies are laid out in individual boxes and can be readily seen. A person not sure what is needed for a burn, for example, can push the “burn” button and lights around items commonly used for that situation automatically light up. The kit also monitors its contents, so if anything is removed from the kit, a green light on top of the unit changes to red to notify staff to restock the kit. Moreover, this information can automatically be provided to a supplier for ordering of new materials to refill the kit. Here’s a company spokesperson presenting the Clever Medkits:
