Anyone trying to stay up to date on the latest mobile health technologies is finding it progressively harder to identify the essential devices they need to buy for clinical practice. The marketplace is at the same time hungry for more connected technologies while being swamped with tools and software that often just don’t deliver or don’t connect. This is a dilemma that Quantified Care aims to solve by creating a professionally-curated marketplace where clinicians, and even patients, can gear up with the best mhealth tools available.
The new company is now raising funds on Indiegogo to help streamline how it partners with device manufacturers to be able to offer more tools at lower cost. Moreover, it aims to research new solutions for the quantified-self movement, a community of people that are tracking all kinds of parameters of their health and daily lives. The hope is that once there’s enough quality data, mining it will lead to new knowledge about how our bodies operate.
We’re proud to see a couple of our editors, Shiv Gaglani and Michael Batista, the founders of the new venture, making widely available many of the technologies we write about on these pages. Being on Medgadget‘s editorial team keeps one attuned to how the medtech world is rapidly changing and the new capabilities that are becoming available. We hope you can help support Quantified Care and in turn help patients and clinicians find easy to use technologies that will improve how they provide care.
