There are a number of conditions that make bone tissue grow incorrectly, but when it happens to the scalp the consequences can be disastrous for the brain. A woman treated at University Medical Center Utrecht in The Netherlands recently had a scalp that was growing inward, putting pressure on the brain. So to help save the patient, a 3D printed scalp was created to replace the original one.
