AliveCor today announced a partnership with Practice Fusion, a popular web based electronic health record (EHR) company. Physician offices will now be able to import the AliveCor Heart Monitor’s ECG readings and reports into the Practice Fusion EHR. Alivecor hopes this move will allow physicians to see a fuller picture of their patients’ medical history and make better treatment decisions.
More than 100,000 medical professionals currently use Practice Fusion on a monthly basis, and through the AliveECG app physicians can record a patient’s ECG, obtain an expert review, and electronically transfer this data into the EHR within seconds.
Leadership from both companies is excited about the move, here are their thoughts from the press release:
“Our partnership with Practice Fusion, the nation’s largest physician-patient community, is a key move toward incorporating mobile health into physician offices across the country,” said Euan Thomson, president and CEO of AliveCor. “Use of the AliveCor Heart Monitor is a cost effective and convenient mobile solution enabling physicians to have a better understanding of their patient’s heart health.”
“We are delighted to offer our community the opportunity to access AliveCor ECG recordings on the Practice Fusion platform,” said Matt Douglass, co-founder and vice president of platform, Practice Fusion. “AliveCor is a leader in mHealth, and by linking directly to the largest cloud-based EHR in the country, more doctors will have 24/7 access to smartphone-based ECG readings in real-time than ever before.”
This move will now enable healthcare providers to record, display, annotate, store, and transfer patient ECG readings wirelessly using the free AliveECG app, which will allow doctors to review data confidentially anytime, anywhere with secure storage in the cloud.
