Keeping elderly people healthy and out of the hospital is a big struggle for the medical community, and in the Basque region of Spain there’s a new program that attempts to do that thanks to a combination of medical gadgets and interactive technologies. By enabling patients to track their own health parameters with devices like spirometers and pulse oximeters, sharing that data with clinicians, and following Xbox Kinect powered exercise routines, they claim to have prevented thousands of visits by the participants.
