ReVerse Medical, a privately held medical device company out of Irvine, CA, received both FDA and CE Mark approvals for the ReVerse Microcatheter family of products for intracranial neurovascular use. The ReVerse Microcatheters, which have steam shapable tips to maintain desired curvatures, are now approved for use in neuro, peripheral and coronary vasculature to introduce diagnostic agents including contrast media and therapeutic device like occlusion coils.
The kink resistant ReVerse Microcatheters are available in two lumen diameters (.021″ / .53mm or .027″ / .69mm) and are introduced over a steerable guidewire to access tortuous vasculature. The device has a semi-rigid proximal section that transitions to a flexible distal tip to allow for advancement through vessels with excellent pushability and navigation. The catheter’s outer surface has a hydrophilic coating to promote lubricity and the device allows for smooth delivery of diagnostic agents due to an ovalization-resisting Nitinol composite construction. A consistent luminal diameter appreciably reduces friction during delivery of therapeutic agents like occlusion coils. The microcatheters make use of highly visible double marker bands that allow for accurate implant or agent delivery.
