Cook Medical has released a new device for extraction of large kidney and bladder stones that simplifies and speeds up the usual process. Typically during percutaneous lithotomies, an assisting clinician controls suction by bending and kinking the plastic tubing leading to the device. The new LithAssist has a built-in lever on the handle that regulates suction, allowing the physician to move along faster during the procedure and reducing the busy work of techs.
The LithAssist works with any holmium laser, so it’s ready to replace whatever current lithotomy device is currently in use.
