Withings, a company known for its iOS based blood pressure cuffs and wireless scales, is now introducing an activity monitor of its own to compete in the quickly growing field. The Pulse activity tracker does what many others do, including counting steps, calories burned, and stairs climbed, but it also has a little optical reader to determine your pulse rate. As a matter of fact, Withings claims that the Pulse is the world’s smallest device to measure the heart’s BPM.
The device has a little screen of its own, but the historical data can be analyzed using a Withings iOS or Android app with which the Pulse syncs up with. You can combine data from the body scale to analyze how physical activity, as well as food intake, affect one’s weight.
