Medgadget has learned that this weekend CareFusion is going to unveil the company’s new surgical clippers at the Annual Conference of the Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology (APIC) Ft. Lauderdale, Fl. The newly redesigned clippers are completely water proof (1 meter, they’re not for diving) and the external materials have been made to be compatible with common clinical chemicals, so you can wash and disinfect them without fear.
The unit is lithium-ion battery powered and includes a charge indicator alerting you when to return it to the base station.
From a to be released press release obtained by Medgadget:
All CareFusion surgical clippers have three different, interchangeable single-use blades to help prevent cross-contamination and provide the right blade for various types of procedures—a general use blade for most clinical hair removal; the specially designed Neuro blade for thick hair on the scalp; and the SensiClip® blade, which moves the blade away from the patient’s skin to avoid compromising sensitive or loose skin.
