Smartphones and tablets are certainly becoming a central part within clinical care for their high definition cameras, brilliant screens, and unlimited software potential. As a matter of fact, Medgadget teamed up with Steelcase and TEDMED during the conference last week to perform over 300 smartphone physicals utilizing existing and some prototype devices that clip onto iPhones.
It’s exciting to see that a new endoscope adapter for iPhones is now available that makes it easy to capture photos and videos of cavities of your choice. They’re going for £80 ($120) in the UK and you can use your own standard 32mm eyepiece endoscope. The endoscope-i, as it’s cleverly named, comes with its own app that centers the image, prevents rotation, and allows you to take pictures while it is recording high definition video.
