Toshiba is introducing two new cardiovascular ultrasound systems, the Aplio 500 CV and the Aplio 300 CV. They differ from their non-CV counterparts by providing a handful of features specific for cardiac exams.
The most prominent one, and only available on the 500, is 2D Wall Motion Tracking, a technology which provides visualization and quantitative analysis of regional 2D myocardial wall motion. It can quantify standard parameters such as strain, strain rate or displacement, and measurements can be performed in all directions (radial, circumferential, 2D rotation and longitudinal).
Advanced Dynamic Flow uses high-resolution, color-flow technology to display the smallest blood vessels and complex blood flow. Tissue Enhancement improves image uniformity and endocardial border delineation, especially in difficult-to-image patients. Additional cardio-specific features are Lateral Gain Controls, Tissue Doppler, Stress Echo, Flex-M Mode and Auto IMT.
