Women’s Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston, Texas has been live-tweeting major operations before, including open-heart surgery and a brain operation, and it looks like they have got another premiere: the world’s first live-tweeted Caesarean section. Yesterday, an unnamed 39-year-old mother delivered a son by C-section while the whole procedure was being live-tweeted with accompanying pictures and videos.
The whole procedure was covered, from pre-operative preparations, through the operation itself, to the child being wheeled out of the OR. All went as hoped, and both mother and son are doing well.
