ReSound has unveiled a new iPhone and Android app and the Phone Clip+ that allows the user to control his or her hearing aids right from a phone or tablet. Though it’s compatible with most ReSound devices, full functionality is currently available for the ReSound Verso aids. Besides controlling how sound is processed, the app via the clip also manages how phone calls are handled and how music is streamed to the hearing aids.
Users will certainly enjoy the convenience of not having to use tiny buttons and switches to control cumbersome menus and options, and it’s certainly a lot less conspicuous to change settings on your phone than running your fingers behind the ears. The clip also has manual controls built in for answering calls and muting the mic, and it can also be used to set other options when the phone is not within reach.
More from ReSound:
For active, hearing-aided people who rely on telephone communication, the ReSound Control app is only one of many great Phone Clip+ features. Attractive and easy to operate, the Phone Clip+ uses any Bluetooth®-enabled telephone to transform hearing aids into telephone headsets. It clips directly onto clothing, offering hands free telephony and enabling hearing-aided people to enjoy benefits many take for granted, like driving safely or using a computer while talking on the phone.
Since people will wear it all day, the Phone Clip+ includes simple remote control of the hearing instrument even if they don’t have an iPhone or Android smartphone. It streams stereo quality music from their phone or any other Bluetooth-enabled MP3 player like an iPod touch®. And for those times when hearing on the phone is difficult due to high background noise – like a busy sidewalk — it has a microphone mute button* so people can turn off their hearing aid microphones and concentrate on their phone conversation.
