You may already have a smart activity tracker counting your steps and watching you sleep, but now the Beam Brush is ready to help you make sure your oral hygiene is top notch. The FDA cleared toothbrush counts your brushing strokes, measures the amount of time you spend brushing, and even detects which quadrant of the mouth you’re working on to make sure the effort is evenly distributed. The data is sent to an accompanying smartphone app where you can check your brushing habits and know when to change brush tip.
Though pretty high-tech, the Beam Brush will have a challenge competing against mechanical toothbrushes that feature internal timers, while it’s not clear what real benefit all the extra data has for an average person.
