Using ultrasound during interventional procedures can be a cumbersome proposition due to the heavy cables linking the transducer to the main device unit. Clinicians often have to reposition the ultrasound to gain better access to the patient, potentially overcoming obstacles like other cables, staff, and their feet. Siemens unveiled a new ultrasound system that uses a wireless transducer that eliminates the cable problem and offers a more natural approach.
